The results of the 1st Shenzhen Information Project Competition were announced early this year., with the transportation management system from Hercules Transportation being one of the ten awardees. In addition to recognizing excellent systems development of the local enterprises, the competition aims at expanding the use of the latest information technology in the traditional industries, as well as exhibiting the ever-growing information industry in Shenzhen.
Hercules' transportation management system was wholly developed in-house, integrating operations, customer service, assignments, accounting, cost management and statistics and analysis. The system is highly compliant with the company's long-term strategy and development scheme. In such a fiercely competitive logistics market, speed and cost effectiveness decide an enterprise's strengths and competitiveness. The system will help the company to achieve the following competitive advantages: standardizing and simplifying operational procedure, increasing efficiency and improving service quality. Since this brainchild came into being in late November 2004, the development of the primary part took just one month and was put into use in early 2005. After undergoing trial operations, cross feedback in the company, testing and updating, the system was applied at the entire organization on July 1, 2005.
